It was a different story on Sunday when gusting winds and torrential rain forced the abandonment of the Junior North West Open.

Juniors and their families had come from all over the North West to compete in this prestigious event but conditions proved impossible —Here’s to next year!

Blustery conditions continued on Monday when the members of Knott End competed in the annual Worsley Key Mixed competition, but at least it was only the wind to contend with and the rain stayed away.

Winners were         Linda Smith & Dave Brocklehurst with a score of 71.4

Second were          David & Fiona Forrester with a score of 71.6

Third were              Trevor & Jean Molloy with a score of 73.2
