Knott End Golf Club had the honour of hosting the Lancashire Ladies County Golf Association Interclub Bronze Team Trophy on Monday 2nd July.
17 clubs from around the North West played their qualifying round in glorious sunshine – possibly too glorious as they were very glad of the refreshments provided half way round.
There were 4 teams from each club playing a Stableford competition, best 3 scores to count.
Winners were Heysham with a score of 107 points
Runners up Shaw Hill with a score of 104 points.
Heysham & Shaw Hill go on to the LLCGA County Final at Preston Golf Club on Friday 7th September2018.
Knott End Ladies played in the Francis Smith Qualifier & an EG medal club competition on Thursday.
Winner of the Francis smith was Jenny Watt with a score of 70 acpo
1st reserve was Karen Higson with a score of 70
2nd reserve was Joyce Wright with a score of 72
Jenny will on to play in the Final at Nelson golf Club on August 20th.

Glorious sunshine was the order of the day when Knott End Ladies held their first Invitation of the year.
Winners were Elizabeth Buckley and Marion Eastwood with a Nett score of 67.6
Runners Up were Linda Smith and Helen Hargreaves with a Nett score of 72,8
3rd were Pauline Fawcett and Dee Duxbury with a Nett score of 75
Sylvia Astbury represented Knott End Golf Club in the National Bridgestone Chase Your Dream Trophy (N Women’s Region) on Saturday at Richmond (Yorkshire) Golf Course.
Sylvia qualified to play in this prestigious competition when she won the England Golf Regional Medal last year.
This is awarded for the four best nett scores over the season in ladies club competitions.
Unfortunately she didn’t get through to the next round on this occasion but had a marvellous days golfing and enjoyed meeting up with other golfers from the northern region.
Knott End Ladies have had some good team results this week. The Miller team won at home to Leyland 3-2 and the Vets team fought valiantly through the pouring rain to defeat Preston 5-2 at home
Knott End clubhouse was the venue when the Ladies held their end of season Winter Presentation.
Lady Captain Fiona Forrester and Competition Secretary Helen Trickett presented the winners with their prizes.
Past Lady Captain and Past Captain Of Captains Lilian Bradley was present to see her Prize presented to the winners of her competition Joanne Kay and Kath Coleman.
At the age of 92 Lilian no longer plays but is still an active member of the club and attends most social events and always enjoys the Ladies away days.
