At Knott End Golf Club, we believe in providing a welcoming and encouraging environment for young golfers. Our junior section is a vibrant and dynamic environment which offers children under the age of 18 the opportunity to develop their skills, make new friends, and enjoy the game of golf.

Junior Membership Options

We offer 2 types of junior membership designed to make golf accessible and enjoyable for young players:

Junior (Beginner): This membership is offered free of charge to children under the age of 18. It provides access to the practice facilities here at the golf club which includes the putting and chipping green, hitting nets and full use of the practice ground.
Cost: FREE

Junior (Full): This membership option provides juniors with full use of the golf course, practice facilities and access to club competitions. Once signed up, members are provided with the login details for the club BRS booking system so tee times can be booked through the app.
Cost: £90.00 (an affiliation fee is applicable for players wishing to obtain a handicap)

Coaching & Development

Our experienced PGA professionals are committed to helping junior members improve their game and reach their full potential. Coaching sessions cover all aspects of the game, from mastering the fundamentals through to on course coaching.

  • Group Lessons: These take place on a Saturday afternoon throughout the season and are ideal for younger golfers who are new to the game. The sessions run as a six-week block and are payable in advance.
  • Individual Lessons: For more experienced players, individual lessons are available on a 1-1 basis with the PGA professional of your choice.
  • Handicap Team Coaching: For children who participate in the handicap team, we run regular coaching sessions and fun 9-hole competitions. (normally on a Thursday evening throughout the spring and summer)

Junior Competitions

Knott End Golf Club provides a range of competitions throughout the year, enabling young golfers the chance to test their skills in a competitive environment.

  • Club Competitions: Full junior members who hold an official WHS handicap have the option to play in all club competitions (a maximum handicap limit is applicable for board comps).
  • Interclub Matches: Our junior handicap team currently play interclub matches in the Fylde and North Lancs leagues ensuring there is plenty of opportunity to enjoy the thrill of competition away from the golf club.
  • Golf Sixes League: To cater for our beginner golfers, we compete in the Fylde Golf Sixes League against other local clubs. This is a fun format that is held in conjunction with the Golf Foundation and has proved very popular over recent years. Each match is played over a shortened 6-hole course in a Texas scramble format and is a great way to get children out on the course.
